The 2014 Eleanor Cole Sportsmanship Award was announced at the OPWTC Annual Awards Luncheon and Membership Meeting on December 1, 2014.

Gladys Ikeda received the award from last year's recipient Sheilagh Elliot who defined sportsmanship:
"...one who can take loss or defeat without complaint, or victory without gloating, and who treats her opponents with fairness and respect."

Gladys not only exemplifies good sportsmanship, she gives tirelessly of herself to contribute to the enthusiasm for the sport of tennis at Oak Park and with the Oak Park Women's Tennis Club (OPWTC), having served in numerous positions on the OPWTC Board.  This quote encompasses the spirit of Gladys--"Believe in yourself, your family & your community and you will win (Lindsey Fox)."  OPWTC is a winner because of Gladys!
